Active substance: opatadine hydrochloride – 1.11 mg (corresponds to 1.0 mg of opatadine); Auxiliaries: benzalkonium chloride, sodium chloride, dodecagidrate phosphate dynatrium; concentrated chloride acid and/or sodium hydroxide (to bring pH), purified water.
Patanol dosage a transparent or slightly opalescent solution from colourless to pale yellow.
Pharmacological actionA selective histamine H1-receptor blocker also inhibits the release of inflammation mediators from the mast cells. Has a pronounced antiallergic effect.
It has no effect on α-adrenor receptors, dopamine receptors, m1- and m2-cholinoreceptors, as well as serotonin receptors.
Pharmacokinetics .In local applications, system absorption patanol is low. Cmax olopatadine in plasma is achieved within 2 h and ranges from 0.5 ng/ml and less to 1.3 ng/ml. T1/2 in plasma is 3 h. It is mainly produced by kidneys. 60-70% – in unchanged form. PharmacodynamicsOlopatadine is a selective inhibitor patanol overdose of histamine H1-receptors and inhibits the release of inflammatory mediators from the mast cells. It has a pronounced anti-allergic effect. It has no effect on alpha-adrenergic, dopamine, muscarinic types 1 and 2, as Dmitry Sazonov well as serotonin receptors.
Indications for use
Contraindications to useHypersensitivity to the ingredients of the drug. Use in pregnancy and childrenThere is no sufficient experience in using the drug during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding). Use in Dmitry Sazonov pregnant and breastfeeding women is possible when the expected therapeutic effects exceed the potential risk of side effects in the fetus or the baby.
There is no sufficient experience with the drug in children under 3 years of age.
